MEET THE TEAM
Mark Schaefer, President & Chief of Innovation
 |
Background: Founder and owner of ADC, Mark has more
than 20 years of engineering experience managing new product design and
product refinement projects in aerospace, consumer products, the
medical industry and manufacturing covering the full spectrum of design
through manufacturing using in-house equipment. |

Education & Accolades: Mark graduated with honors
from Iowa State University with a BS degree in mechanical engineering
and he holds a Master's of Business Administration (MBA) degree from
Rockford College. Mark is a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) and
has the distinguished designation of being a PTC Certified Engineering
Provider and a PTC Certified Trainer. He holds more than 20 patents, is
a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Tau Beta Phi and in his spare time he has
trained for and completed two Ironman competitions and 11 marathons. He
is also a private pilot with an IFR rating.

Jim Marschalek, Vice President of Engineering
 |
Background: Jim has excelled at design innovation, new
product development and testing since he joined ADC as a new graduate
in June of 2000. Jim has quickly proven his value as a creative
innovator and technical problem solver and teacher. |
Education & Accolades: Jim came to us
from the University of Wisconsin - Madison where he earned his Bachelor
of Science degree in mechanical engineering in 2000. Jim is qualified
as a SolidWorks Certified Professional (CWSP) and a PTC Certified
trainer specializing in Pro/MECHANICA (PRO/M), Mechanism (MDX &
MDO), and Behavioral Modeling (BMX). Combining the PTC training
knowledge base with his mechanical engineering degree, Jim excels at
using CAD software to accelerate the product design cycle. He has
continued his education through PTC and at Iowa State University
earning a Masters of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2009.
A former member of the U.W. Madison Cross-Country team that finished
second in the 1999 NCAA tournament, Jim has went on to win local and
national running events like the Nike Run Hit Wonder event where he
beat 10,000 competitors to win a custom electric guitar.

Craig Brown, Lead CNC Machinist & Toolmaker
 |
Background: Craig has over 30 years of experience in
the industry, the last 12 years have been at ADC. As a journeyman tool
and die maker, he has stamping, plastic injection molding, and die cast
tooling experience, as well as CNC programming and mold design
experience. Not only does Craig create prototypes and tools but he is
also our in-house consultant with expertise on creating designs that
are manufactureable despite the degree of complexity. |
Education & Accolades: Manufacturing
specialist and expert on finding solutions.
Inspiration: Harley rides and Harley events. |
Scott Kaiser, CNC Machinist & Toolmaker
 |
Background: Scott has over 25 years of experience in
the industry. Now in his tenth year at ADC, Scott goes above and beyond
to deliver parts on schedule As a journeyman tool and die maker, he has
stamping, plastic injection molding, and die cast tooling experience,
as well as CNC programming and mold design experience. Scott creates
complex prototypes and tools and is one of our internal IT experts. |
Education & Accolades: CAM Programming
(Surfcam) at WCTC and Geometric Tolerance at MATC. Currently learning
PowerMILL to accelerate the speed of the mold making process.
Inspiration: Fishing, bow hunting and scuba diving! |
Greg Groth, Reverse Engineering Manager
 |
Background: Greg is ADC's master of the art and science
of 3D scanning, rapid surfacing and inspection. He has nine years of
industry experience. Greg has worked on a wide array of scanning
projects on everything from soap dispensers to entire cars and trucks
and even the occasional cadaver. He has worked with intricate and
complex pieces, translated clay sculptures to digital form, and
developed time saving methods for the automotive racing industry. |
Education & Accolades: Degree in
mechanical design from Waukesha County Technical College. Customers
rave about the solutions Greg comes up with to solve design challenges
and his solutions have been published in several magazines and online
articles.
Inspiration: Photography & the sloppy intersection of physics and
art. |
Sam Bramstedt
 |
Background: Sam grew up on a small dairy farm in rural Wisconsin graduating from a high school in Manitowoc. While in college he gained experience working in the automotive casting industry.

Education & Accolades: In May, Sam received his BSME degree from MSOE where his senior design team project was a Pick and Place Robotic Manipulator. In 2009, Sam participated in a one year study abroad experience at Fachhochschule Luebeck University of Applied Sciences for a full year resulting in a German Diplomarbeit diploma. He is already an EIT en route to obtaining his P.E. license and has passed the FE exam. He was a 3-year letterman on the MSOE wrestling team and honored as an Academic All American during the 2010-11 season. He was the first MSOE wrestler to win the Outstanding Wrestler award at the MSOE Invitational.
Inspiration: Sam's engineering style is enhanced by his interested in hands on work in: woodworking, metalworking and motorcycle restoration/modification. He is an avid weightlifter. |
Tyler Waschow
 |
Background: Tyler grew near Mukwonago and started his ADC career as a WCTC intern. He was hired full-time with the Reverse Engineering team serving our clients in everything from 3D scanning and inspections, to creating CAD files. He came to ADC with experience in machining techniques and automotive systems. |
Education & Accolades: Tyler graduated from WCTC's Mechanical Design Technology Program in May of 2011.
Inspiration:The great outdoors namely, fishing and hunting as well as a wide variety of power sports. |
Andrew Radloff
 |
Background: Andrew is supporting ADC's Reverse Engineering Department
while pursuing his Mechanical Engineer Technology degree at WCTC. |
Education & Accolades: High School honor roll student, National Technical Honor Society and President's Honor roll at WCTC.
Inspiration: Sports! Andrew played high school football ending as a State
Champion his senior year. |
Patrick Woodzick, Designer
 |
Background: Patrick is the newest member of ADC’s reverse engineering team. If you stop by you will likely find him scanning parts or developing digital CAD files. He has extensive knowledge of finish carpentry projects and door applications as well as experience as a service technician. |
Education & Accolades: He is on the brink of graduating with honors from the Mechanical Engineering Technology program at WCTC and then will embark on continuing his education at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in pursuit of a mechanical engineering (BSME) degree while continuing to serve ADC’s customers.
Inspiration: The great outdoors: specifically; hunting, fishing, and anything on or around the water! |
Jerry Schreiner, Plastic Injection Molder
 |
Background: Jerry joined ADC team in early January, 2010 bringing with him a wealth of experience as a pressman and working with a variety of machines. He is customer-focused and deadline driven and is an effective at producing parts to meet customer specifications and requirements. |
Education & Accolades: Jerry graduated from Eaglecrest High School in Aurora, Colorado.
Inspiration: All stock car races (especially NASCAR), shooting pool and taking care of his diverse collection of pets! |
Matt Baldwin, Coop Student
 |
Background: Matt is an aspiring engineer supporting our team of engineers and machinists. |
Education & Accolades: Matt is senior at Catholic Memorial, bound for college in the fall of 2011. Matt is a member of the National Honor Society and he enjoys volunteering at both his school and church.
Inspiration: Family is inspiring to Matt (his father and two older brothers are engineers. He also finds inspiration in sports and participates in football and hockey. |
Sue Carlsen, Office Manager
 |
Background: Sue joined ADC's team in 2006 after gaining
20 years of administrative, customer service and project management
experience. Sue handles administrative functions for ADC including A/R,
A/P and some project management. She recently attended the Tax Insight:
Wisconsin Sales and Use Tax Seminar. She is the first face you see
during an office visit and often the first voice you hear on the
phones. Customer service is her highest priority and she is skilled at
finding answers to customer inquires. She takes pride in being the glue
that holds the office together and being the “go-to” person. |

Deb Schaefer, Operations & Chief of Fun
 |
Background: 10 years experience with ADC in various
roles in marketing, HR, purchasing, event planning and occasionally
manufacturing. Former research analyst and PR director. |
Education & Accolades: BS degree from Iowa State
University; MBA from Rockford College.
Inspiration: Long runs, traveling and funny friends. |
Haley Llanas
 |
Background: Haley graduated in 2008 from Waukesha West where she was a multiple state champ in gymnastics. She is a life-long Wisconsin resident and pleased to be working at her first engineering internship. |
Education & Accolades: In May 2011, Haley officially finished her third year at UW Madison where she is pursuing her B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. Someday she aspires to work in the automotive field.
Inspiration: A favorite grandfather was a mechanical engineer which ultimately inspired Haley to pursue an ME degree. She loves sports and spending time with her amazing family. |
